George Peter Demeyere
January 13, 1956 - March 7, 2024
With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of George ‘Peter’ Demeyere of Tillsonburg, at the age of 68. Dear son of the late George Demeyere (2014) and Mary Jean Demeyere (2023). Brother of Christine Jacob (Rick 2023) Jill Bossy (Michael) and Heather Demeyere. Proud and loving father of Erich Demeyere (Susy) and Julie Anne Demeyere Mawhiney (Mark). Papa Pete will be dearly missed by grandchildren Abigail Demeyere, Lucas and Logan Mawhiney. Pete was a tobacco farmer and then became an employee at CAMI automotive for over 30 years. Pete enjoyed the fun things in life, playing and watching sports, cruising in one of “Papa Pete’s super cars”, and days boating on the lake with family and friends. Our Dad will be remembered for his big warm smile, his amazing laugh and the biggest, best hugs, living life to the fullest.
A private inurnment for the family will take place at the Tillsonburg Cemetery, and a celebration of life for friends and family will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to honour Pete made to a humane society, animal shelter or animal rescue centre of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
