Obituary for Reginald Francis Pitre
REGINALD FRANCIS PITRE
December 17, 1933 – December 22, 2019
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Reginald Francis Pitre, 86, of Tillsonburg. Reg was the beloved husband of Claire Pitre (née Quenneville), father of David Pitre (Barry Milton), Rochelle Jones (Eric Jones), Dan Pitre (Tess Pitre), Susan Pitre (Peter Muzzi) and Carol Pitre. Reg was the proud grandfather to his 11 grandchildren: Deanna, Lucas, Cameron, Campbell, Gracen, Gabrielle, Leighton, Spencer, Elise, Adèle and Jared. Also survived by his three sisters, Winnifred (Joe Ward), Joyce and Marilyn, and 18 nieces and nephews. Notable accomplishments for Reg: he pitched for the Baltimore Orioles Organization in the mid 1950s, was happily married to Claire for 59 years, was a devoted bridge player, and proud patriarch to his five children, 11 grandchildren and the entire Pitre clan.
The Pitre family invites relatives and friends to join them for visitations on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 51 Venison Street, Tillsonburg, Ontario. Father John Pirt officiating. Cremation will take place following the Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Reg’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.ca) or Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca).
