Obituary for Reid Ripley Anderson

REID RIPLEY ANDERSON
May 20, 2003 – August 28, 2022
It is with unimaginable sadness and grief that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin Reid Ripley Anderson on Sunday August 28th at the age of 19, with his parents by his side holding his hands as he took his last breath. He was truly one of a kind and his energy and joy for life touched all that were fortunate enough to have known him. Words cannot begin to describe his determination and enthusiasm in everything he did, his kindness and compassion for his family and friends, and his fun loving nature to all that he encountered, both friends and strangers. He had the ability to light up a room with his smile, laughter, and carefree spirit. He was happiest with a ball or hockey stick in his hand and loved nothing more than shooting hoops and stick handling every chance he got. His greatest times were playing with the boys at O’Neil recesses and on school teams, with his friends and teammates on the Langton Leafs, singing and dancing with his mom, and most of all playing any and every sport with his favourite teammate, his dad. He is survived by his parents Neil and Bobbi, his sister Bria, his dog Cutter, his grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished family friends. There was never a dull moment when Reid was around, he kept everyone guessing as to what was coming next, which lead to many, many funny stories and adventures. He blessed his parents with all his love and affection shown by the biggest hugs a guy could give. Reid was so brave and strong in a world that wasn’t always easy on him, and his mom and dad couldn’t have been prouder of their special boy. His passing leaves a huge hole in our lives and words will never describe how deeply Reid will be missed. The tears will never stop, the pain will never go away. “ Ripper” you will be forever in our hearts.

As a tribute to Reid’s kind spirit a tissue donation has been made to the Trillium Foundation to allow him to help many others, and make people smile, both of which he loved to do and brought him much joy and happiness.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday September 4, 2022 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221. Cremation will follow the visitation. Donations in Reid’s memory may be made to Fragile X Foundation of Canada and may be done online or by contact the Funeral Home.
