Obituary for Richard "Dickie" Ludvik Slattery (Kisilak)

Richard “Dickie” Ludvik Slattery (Kisilak) April 4, 1968 – May 6, 2023
Suddenly, at the age of 55 years old, Richard was called to be reunited in heaven with his family. Richard and his brother were raised by the late Wilbert and Patricia Slattery, predeceased by his parents Ludvik and Bonnie Kisilak, and his brother Anthony (Tony) Slattery. Richard was the dedicated, adoring, and extremely proud Father of two admiring daughters, Paige (Jordan) and Rae Slattery, whom he loved with all his heart. His girls were the light of his life. Loving partner to Alexandra (Alex) Santos, who spent 9 wonderful years travelling and enjoying life together... spending any vacation time they could enjoying the warm weather in a new location. Richard loved her 3 sons as if they were his own; Tiago, his wife Daniela and their daughter Teresa; Edgar, and Helder. As a young boy, Dickie was likely found playing Hockey or getting into any trouble he could find. His first time driving a car at the age of 9 ended with him in a ditch hitting a fence, a memory he never passed up the opportunity to share. His laugh was infectious. Richard was a hardworking man, who would not let a task go unthought of before it was completed. Richard was a talented woodworker who spent most of his time in the garage, either completing a project or brainstorming a new one (if not both). Richard was an expert Electrical Technologist and a Master Electrician. The definition of compassion, diligence, intelligence, and strength was represented through him. Richard held great joy in both his daughters, never missing an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments. He held great pride knowing his daughter, Paige holds the compassion and motivation to be successful in her upcoming career. Paige’s partner, Jordan, admired Richard dearly. Richard was not only a role model but a true mentor of what a loving, compassionate, and caring father looks like. Richard will be missed immensely by his best friend, and daughter, Rae (Ruby Two Shoes); who will forever have half her heart in heaven... with her Daddy. Richard will be missed by many friends and co-workers; and “Uncle Dickie” will be missed by his nieces and nephew, whom he adored and held so much pride in. A celebration of Richard's short, but impactful life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Paige Slattery, to go towards and Education Fund for Richard’s daughters would be appreciated by the Slattery family and can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221).Personal condolences can be made at www.ostrandersfuneralhome.com
