Peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2023, Rick Jacob passed away at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Christine (Demeyere) Jacob for 49 years. Proud and loving father of Melissa Cluett and Kyle Jacob (Lee Ann) and best Papa ever to Madelyne and Leah. Rick is survived by his wife Christine, sister Peg Breit (Richard), sisters-in-law Jill Bossy (Mike), Heather Demeyere and brother-in-law Peter Demeyere. Rick was predeceased by his parents Murray and Irene Jacob, brother Gary Jacob, and his father and mother-in-law George and Mary Jean Demeyere.
Rick was an Instrumentation Technologist with The Corporation of the Town of Tillsonburg and Tillsonburg Public Utilities Commission for 38 years. He was an outstanding and well-respected basketball player throughout his years at Glendale High School and at college. He enjoyed his many trips north, including canoe trips and fishing trips. Rick had a love for music, often enjoying it over a glass of red wine or brandy on the family’s Friday Pizza Nights. Rick always enjoyed regular golf games with his friends.
It is hard to encompass all of the qualities that made Rick who he was. He was everything to everyone without even trying, and had the ability to bring out the best in people. His laid-back and carefree personality put everyone at ease. He truly was the best husband, Dad, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend anyone could ask for. He was our favourite person.
