Obituary for Robert Westly Smith
ROBERT WESTLY SMITH
We sadly report that Bob passed peacefully at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on March 5, 2022 at age 89.
Predeceased by his parents Wilbur (Web) Smith and Ella Aspden and his daughter, Christine Smith-Faria (2016).
Survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marian (Richardson), son Dale Robert Smith, daughter Lynda Lee Denise Morris (Wayne), grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter as well as brothers Ivan (Irene) Smith and Ward (Virginia/Molly) Smith.
Bob introduced his family to the adventures of camping, fishing, and travelling. He had a love of car racing and we spent lots of hot days at race tracks cheering on his favourite drivers.
In his last years, Bob was an avid fisherman spending many hours on the pier at Port Bruce and Port Burwell. He rarely brought home any fish so we suspect he either gave them away or never put a worm on the hook. Part of the pleasure of fishing on the pier was talking to anyone who passed by.
People passing our house could depend on seeing Bob sitting out in the sun on the driveway watching the world pass by.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
