Obituary for Robert "Bob" William Varro

ROBERT “BOB” WILLIAM VARRO
NOVEMBER 18, 1948 – MARCH 22, 2021
Peacefully, at his home in Courtland surrounded by his family on Monday, March 22, 2021, Robert “Bob” William Varro passed away at the age of 72 years. Beloved common-law husband of Mary Wolfe for 21 years. Proud and loving father of the Late Robert Varro (2020), Rick Varro (Joanne Swayze) of Courtland and step-father of Shylah Wolfe of Alexandria. Cherished grandfather of Frasier Varro of Courtland and Gisele Varro of Vietnam. Dear brother of Tom Varro (Diane) of Courtland. Bob was also uncle to Ryan Varro (Lindsay) of Courtland, Kyle Varro (Courtney) of Delhi and great-uncle to Owen and Ellie Varro. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Denes Varro. Bob was a member of the Courtland Fire Department for 17 years. He was a former employee of Bell Canada which involved working all across the country. Bob was also the Proprietor of ISW Systems Inc. Bob was a helicopter pilot, an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed “catching the wind” and he was also very passionate about Blues and Country music. He was the bass player in the Silver Eagle Band for many years. He will be missed by all that knew him. In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received by Bob’s family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, public visitation will be LIMITED to ONLY guests that sign up for a specific time to attend. Time slots will be made available on our website or by calling 519-842-5221. Guests are asked to not attend if they are ill, have been in contact with anyone that is ill or have travelled. Guests are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing rules. Guests are encouraged to only attend when their time slot begins. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when restrictions are lifted.
