Peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Tillsonburg on Monday, January 23, 2023, Robert LeRoy “Bud” Simmons passed away at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband and best friend of the Late Sandra “Sandy” (Greenhead) Simmons (2010) for 43 years. Proud and loving father of Derek and Chad Simmons (Sara). Cherished grandpa of Ryan. Bud loved to travel and enjoyed Nascar races, day trips, dinner out and trips to the casino with his wife, Sandy. He had a great sense of humour and was always joking around. Bud was a people person and was always socializing; wanting to know their life stories. He was actively involved with his grandson, Ryan and loved watching his hockey and baseball games and he also was a fan of Team Shananigans – Chad and Dave. Bud grew up playing hockey in Dunnville and continued to play hockey in Tillsonburg in his later years. He loved his boys, Derek, Chad and Ryan very much. In keeping with Bud’s wishes, cremation has taken place with private family arrangements. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Simmons family.
