Obituary for Robert Clifton Hussey

ROBERT CLIFTON HUSSEY
September 12 1943-March 17 2022

He lived a full life of 78 years.
Robert and Freda met on a hayride at a mutual friend’s birthday party. They married in 1962, then again for their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries.
He was “Dad’ to Wayne (predeceased March 17, 2021) (Patty), Andrew (Lynnette), William (Joyce) and Corey (Dione). Robert was a Proud “Grandpa” to 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In his early years of marriage his love for farming allowed him employment working with pigs, cows including tobacco and ginseng.
As a part time hobby farmer he discovered enjoyment in his own rabbitry and then his own Rabbit Depot, making many trips to a rabbit processing plant. He carried this further while supporting local and surrounding parades. He created a rabbit themed float, giving special memories for three generations.
He worked proudly in the development and the growth of local subdivisions and took great pride in the homes he built. This manual labour eventually took a toll on his knees and shoulders etc and a retirement was needed. But he found another passion delivering rural route mail for 11 years. His last entrepreneurial adventure, he and Freda enjoyed the interactions they experienced with the Amish grocery bus.
Being an avid reader, Robert would have four books on the go at a time. Robert also taught his sons how to cheat at games and then this knowledge was passed on to his grandchildren.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from a “Jack of all Trades and a Master of None”.
