Robert “John” Harold Moffat
(1941 – 2019)
Peacefully at the Victoria Hospital in London on July 30, 2019, Robert “John” Harold Moffat passed away in his 78th year. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mae (Doubledee). Loving father to Sandy Livermore (Jim), Shelley Moffat (Peter Lilley) and Rick Moffat (Cheryl). Adoring grandfather to Ellie (Cole), Trevor (Birkley), Brooke (Mitch), Megan (Mitch), Ryan, Jackie (Paul), Courtney (Adam), Jake, and Luke. John is also a great grandfather to Quinton and Adelina. John was survived by his sisters Dawn White (Ken) and Marjorie Ahuja as well as sister in law Irene Bridge (Ev). Predeceased by his sister June Haylow and his parents Harold and Ruby Moffat. John enjoyed a lengthy career at EllisDon Construction for 43 years specializing in Hospital Construction. He also trained and drove standardbred horses for over 20 years. John had a passion for horse racing, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was best known for his unique ability to make people laugh. A special thank you to the medical staff of Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital especially the Dialysis Unit as well as the staff of Victoria Hospital. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Karlene Palmer Brown officiating at The Carriage Hall 25 Brock St W, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 2A3 on Friday, August 2, 2019 and a Celebration of Life to follow from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Memorial donations to the Dialysis Unit at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the Moffat family.
