ROGER DONALD SHOEMAKER
April 12, 1946 – October 11, 2019
Roger Donald Shoemaker, age 73, passed away peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 11, 2019. Roger was predeceased by his parents Donald and Stella Margaret (Holdenmeyer). Roger is survived by his daughters Cheryl (Travis) Schmidt and Carrie Streets. He is also survived by his grandchildren Troy, Dylan (Shania), Ryan, Dawson and Payton. Roger was a man of simple tastes, a dedicated father and grandfather, a successful business man and a dear friend. He cherished time spent and memories made with those closest to him. Roger had many friends and neighbours who he spoke very highly of and we know he would want to thank everyone for their phone calls, visits, cards and support during this most difficult time. Roger was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Tillsonburg. We would to thank Father Pirt and Deacon Jack for their visits when he truly needed to feel God’s presence. We would also like to thank the entire team at TDMH who treated our dad with compassion and provided comfort and care. As Roger requested, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private Celebration of Life will occur at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roger’s name to a charity of your choice by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
