Ronald Joseph Hallows (1935 – 2020)
It is with deep sadness the family wish to announce the passing of their beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Ronald Joseph Hallows, of Tillsonburg on Saturday April 18, 2020 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Leona (nee Kent) in 2007. Ron was a loving father to his son Randy and his wife Barbara Hallows, and his daughter Laurie and her husband Don Leonard. Papa Ron to granddaughters Stephanie Hallows (Tyler Batstone) and Brittany Hallows (Will Gordon). Stepfather to Rob and Deborah Kent, Susan Kent (the late Richard 2010). Always remembered as Papa Ron by Heather (Cory), Shaun (Ali) Kent, Elizabeth, Sandra, Pamela and Linda Kent. Great Grandfather to Everon, Camden, Alex, Nicholas, Carter, Molly, Preston, Emily, and Jack. Survived by his brothers Fred (Betty), Ken (Carole) and sisters Doreen and Fred Dienesch, Jean and Bob Armstrong, Elaine and Gary Bowman and Janice and Brian Durham. Cherished and special friend to Christine Ritchie. Predeceased by his father George Hallows, his mother Lila (Dodgson) Hallows, his son in law Marc Moskalyk (2007). Ron retired in 1997 after 43 dedicated years at Canadian Leaf Tobacco Co. and RJR – MacDonald Inc., serving as a Buyer, and Director of Leaf Processing. A special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of the 2nd Floor at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for their special care during his many visits. Also special thanks to the staff of the Tillsonburg Retirement Centre, many thanks for your compassion and care. Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no public visitation or service at this time. A Public Visitation will be held at a later date, and details will follow. A private family visitation and service will take place for Ron’s family. Memorial donations in Ron’s memory could be made to a Charity of your Choice and can be done by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
