Obituary for Steve Drotos
STEVE DROTOS
November 5, 1930 – December 15, 2019
Peacefully at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital with his family by his side on December 15, 2019, Steve Drotos, of Tillsonburg, passed away at the age of 89 years. Loving husband of 63 years to Elizabeth “Liz” (nee Niedermeyer). Proud and supportive father to John and his wife Sue, and his late son Steve (2013). Steve is survived by his sister Helen Fulop, sister-in-law Margaret Drotos, cousin Helen Orel and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father Elizabeth and John Drotos, brother John and his wife Betty, brother Joe, brother-in-law Louie Fulop, nephew Joey Drotos, and cousin Steve Orel. After farming tobacco for many years, he worked in roofing and then went on to work on the pipeline for many years. After Steve retired he was an avid gardener and wood worker. Steve made bird houses and butterflies for numerous family and friends. In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at OSTRANDER’S FUNERAL HOME LIMITED, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm with Words of Remembrance being held at 1:00 p.m. Father John Pirt of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg officiating. Interment will be held in the Spring of 2020. Memorial donations to the Terry Fox Foundation or Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the Drotos family.
