ULLA BERNICE “MICKEY” MOODY
February 2, 1931 - October 23, 2022
Ulla Bernice “Mickey” Moody (nee Buchner) passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Sunday October 23, 2022, at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Courtland. Wife of the late Blake Moody (2018). Ulla was the last surviving member of all nine of the Buchner children. Loving mother to her children Sharon (the late Tom) Logan of Kingston, Cindy (Ray) Thompson of Chatham, Brian (Marilyn) Moody of Tillsonburg. Grandmother to 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Sister-in-law to Shirley (Robert) Franklin, Eileen (the late Gordon) Moody, Joan (the late Gerald) Moody. Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Bernice worked alongside her husband Blake most of her life as Blake’s office manager and bookkeeper. She kept him on the straight and narrow path of running a successful electrical business. Later years she enjoyed working as a greeter/clerk at Walmart. Bernice was an avid golfer and once won the Ladies yearly championship at the Tillsonburg Golf and Country Club. She also enjoyed bowling, bingo, boating at Long Point Bay, time with friend over Tim Hortons coffee but what brought her the most joy was having all her family around her. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial visitation will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221 on Tuesday November 1, 2022, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Private inurnment will be held at Eden Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Bernice can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society and can be done online or by contacting the funeral home.
