Our Staff

Over the years, our firm has been fortunate to attract and retain staff that is friendly, compassionate, highly skilled and dedicated to their profession. Whether it is our licensed staff, non-licensed staff or support staff, we believe that it is important for you to feel comfortable with all of the people that you will meet at our firm. As such, we are providing you with a brief background and photograph of the individuals that make up our team.

Ken Butcher

Owner & Managing Funeral Director
Ken Butcher was born and raised in the Princeton area. He is married to Jodi, and they have three sons. After working alongside his father Reg at Ostrander's Funeral Home since 2003, Ken assumed the Manager role in 2014 and he is pleased to carry on the same service his father demonstrated.

Jodi Butcher

Owner & Transfer Service Sales Representative.
Jodi joined our staff in 2009 in office accounting. She is the wife of Ken, and together they have three sons. Jodi successfully completed the Funeral Pre-planning course with Humber Collage and in 2020 became licensed as a Transfer Service Sales Representative. As such, Jodi is able to assist with arrangements for Direct Cremation and Direct Burials.

Collin Johnson

Assistant Manager & Funeral Director
Collin Johnson was born and raised in Burford. He is married to  Heather and has two children Carter and Avery. Collin has been a Licenced Funeral Director since 1997 graduating from Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from York University.  Collin has been a loyal employee with Ostrander's Funeral Home since December of 1999.

David Johnson

Funeral Director
David was born in Paris, Ontario and raised mostly in the Burford area. David has been involved in funeral services since the age of 17 years old. He joined the Ostrander's Funeral Home team in October of 2010, and is a dedicated employee with a heart of gold.

Reg Butcher

Funeral Director
Reg Butcher was raised and born in Oxford County in the Princeton area. Reg was the Owner and Managing Funeral Director of Ostrander's Funeral Home since January 2003 before passing the business over to his son Ken in 2014.

Janet Butcher


Reception / Accounting
Janet joined Ostrander's Funeral Home as co-owner, and full time receptionist, and office manager in October 2005. Janet is the wife of Reg Butcher, and mother of Ken Butcher. Janet , Reg , and their son Ken are owners of the Ostrander's Funeral Home. Janet retired from the Frank Cowan Insurance Company in Princeton as Account Manager after 30 years in 2005. Janet attends St. Paul's United Church in Tillsonburg. Janet is an active member of the Tillsonburg Seniors Choir. She is the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, and three grandsons.

Allan Greer


Funeral Director's Assistant
After retiring from a career in finance with the local firms of TDS/Livingston and Fernlea Flowers, Allan joined the staff of Ostrander’s Funeral Home in 2013. Allan was raised in the Tillsonburg area, is widowed (Betty 2012) and has two children Duncan and Leta. He is a member of Peace Lutheran Church and is an active member of the church council. Allan volunteers at the Tillsonburg Hospital and enjoys gardening and woodworking.

 Carol Robinson


Pianist
Carol and her husband Paul having been living in Tillsonburg since 1994. Carol has been involved in the music ministry in each of the churhces Paul has pastored. They have four adult children and six grandchildren. Carol joined the staff of Ostrander's as an organist in 1995 and then worked as receptionist as well from 2004-2018. She has continued to play the piano for funerals and also looks after the music at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church where she and Paul attend since his retirement in June 2021.

Brenda Pankratz

Receptionist
Brenda was born and raised in the Port Rowan area. She is married to Wayne and they have lived in Tillsonburg for 29 years. They have three sons Jason, Justin and Jered. The family attends Erie View Church in Port Rowan where Brenda is a member of the choir and teaches Sunday School. She also volunteers for various charities in the local community. Brenda has been with Ostrander's Funeral Home since spring of 2000.

Myra Claringbold

Organist
Myra is a life time resident of Tillsonburg. She and her husband Bob are parents of four children, Crystal Carle living in British Columbia, Craig and Dwayne of Tillsonburg and Darryl of Oakville. She is also a proud "Nana" to eleven grandchrildren. Myra has spent many years with C.I.B.C., Tillsonburg. She joined Ostrander's Funeral Home as organist/receptionist in 1970 with Ewart and Harry Ostrander Sr's ownership. Myra is piano/organist at Bethel Temple PAOC Church and also attends North Broadway Baptist Church.

Susan Lofthouse

Receptionist
Susan joined Ostrander's Funeral Home in October 2005 as a receptionist/ organist. She is married to Wayne Lofthouse of Courtland, and has two married sons, and a grandson. She attends Houghton Brethren in Christ Church.

Kathie Troyer

Organist
Kathie and her husband Rick have a son and daughter who have blessed them with four grandchildren. Being an elementary school teacher for over 40 years, she now continues to do some supply teaching but spends most of her time between her grandchildren and her church, First Baptist Church Tillsonburg. Kathie has played piano for church for almost 50 years and was a music teacher periodically at school and from home. Kathie joined Ostrander's Funeral Home as an organist in 2009.
