Obedience School Drop Out!

I met Pat at puppy obedience training class. Dave and Pat,with their puppy Amy, came to Pet-D-Gree training centre to teach Amy how to be a good girl. Shep, my puppy, is the same age as Amy. He really took a shine to that pretty little Golden! Pat was always there to console me when Amy learned to sit, lie down or stay, when my puppy didn't learn as quickly as Amy did! Pat knew it wasn't my Dog, it was me!!! Dave would tease me at each new trick or command. Pat would say to me "Don't mind him!" and she'd lean over and give my puppy a "good boy" and rewarded him with a treat!!! Shep loved Pat! As I struggled to get my feet in the right place when we were learning agility, I remember after one class I was so frustrated. I used to say to Pat, "I'll never get this"! She again would encourage me. Off again I'd go to master the new command. Of course, not before Pat gave Shep another treat! I recall one memorable puppy class. I laughed and laughed at Pat and Dave. They gave me a plaque in the shape of a Dog, on it reads " Obedience School Drop Out!" That little gift of humour hangs over my dog cages. Eventually I was able to teach my puppy all of the commands just like Amy could. Pat would sit quietly at trials, watching the puppies jump their jumps and weave through the obstacles. Always saying "good for you" when we got the next level or a new ribbon. She said "see you can do it", when I finally mastered my feet! I will dearly miss Pat's quiet encouragement, and she will always be in my thoughts when I see Dave and Amy! Rest peacefully my friend, your friend, Ann Wallace
