Obituary for Hugh McBryde

Hugh  McBryde
Passed peacefully at Maple Manor Nursing Home on February 10, 2016 with family at his side. Hugh was born in 1932 to Hugh and Isabella McBryde in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Hugh was predeceased by his parents; brother Gerald of Milton, ON.; sister Iris of Northern Ireland. Husband of 62 years to Elizabeth (Betty) (Andrews) also from Northern Ireland. Father to David McBryde and wife Cindy of St. Marys, ON., Hilary McKillop and husband Gary of Straffordville, ON. Grandfather to Robert McBryde of St. Marys and Anne McBryde and husband Jason Pollard of Exeter, ON. Great-grandfather to Tyrin and Bralynn Pollard. Will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews in Britain and Ontario. Also survived by sister Janet and husband Phil Howard and brother Derek of England. Sisters-in-law Sheila McBryde of Milton, ON. and Dorothy Robinson or Northern Ireland. Hugh and Betty and their two children immigrated to Canada in 1957 where Hugh worked for Avro Aircraft, then de-Havilland Aircraft until he retired. They moved to Tillsonburg from Mississauga, ON. in 1998. Hugh was active in Scouting and St. John’s Ambulance and was highly awarded in both. Hugh’s family would like to thank Dr. J. Cluett and the diligent nursing staff at Maple Manor for their care and attention to Hugh. Friends and relatives are invited to share memories of Hugh at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service for Hugh will be held at St. Paul’s United Church, 88 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Ferrier officiating. Cremation to follow with private inurnment in Smuck Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Tillsonburg
