“Gone to be with his Lord” Peter Thiessen Woelk of Port Rowan passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday, August 15, 2011 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of 58 years to his loving wife Helena Woelk (nee: Klassen). Loving father to Susana (David) Braun of South America; Anna (Abe) Neufeld of Langton; Peter (Trudy) Woelk of Langton; Dave (Nettie) Woelk of Courtland; Helen Braun of Drayton; Eva Woelk of Port Rowan; Jake Woelk of Tillsonburg; Margaret (Paul) Melnychuk of Corinth; Tina (Jake) Klassen of Port Burwell; Abraham Woelk of Tillsonburg; Billy Woelk of Tillsonburg . Cherished grandfather to 22 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to David, Abraham and Jake Woelk, and Susanna Bergen. Peter was predeceased by his sons Henry Woelk age 16; and infant son Henry Woelk, and his daughters Anna; Helen; Margaret, and Sarah Woelk, son-in-law Herman Janzen (1981); a granddaughter Angie Woelk, great-granddaughter Anna Wolfe, two brothers Bill and Henry Woelk, and two sisters Anna Martens, and Suzanna Woelk. The family will receive friends and family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (519) 842-5221 on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service for Peter will be held at the Walsingham Old Colony Mennonite Church on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. Bishop_Herman Bergen officiating. Interment Tillsonburg Old Colony Mennonite Cemetery.
