Peacefully, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 18, 2009 Phyllis Christina Montgomery Aitken Haigh of Tillsonburg age 79 years. Beloved wife of 33 years to her husband and best friend Stanley. Dear mother of Dennis (Deborah) Schmidt of Eagle Bay, B. C., Mary (Kevin) Miller of Ayr, Ontario. Loving grandmother to Nicole (Tom) Jackson of Hamilton; Glenda (David) Smith of Steveston B.C.; Amy and Jordan Miller, and great-grandmother to Owen Jackson, and Wyatt Smith. Dear sister of Barbara (Joe) Lederman of Plattsville, and Marjorie Aitken of Elmira, and sister-in-law to Grace Sudden of Breslau. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Archibald Aitken. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, and neighbours at St. Paul’s United Church, Tillsonburg on Thursday January 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. for a Memorial Service in Phyllis’s memory. Rev. Maurice Francis, and Rev. Glenn Baker officiating. At Phyllis’s request she has bequeathed her body for medical research to University of Western Ontario. At the family’s request memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
